We wanted to get our daughter some sort of a busy box for a while, and we chose this one, when a friend of ours gave her a gift certificate to ToysRUs for her first birthday. Overall, it was a good buy. My main complaint is the music, which I found highly annoying Unfortunately, the first thing our daughter figured out is how to turn on the music by pressing a trigger button instead of trying to fit a block into a hole. She figured out simple shapes by about 15 months, and the concept of turning this cube and looking for the right shape came to her at about 20 months. She plays with it very rarely nowadays (she is 22 months now), so soon it will go to the sell/donate pile. I still think that it was a nice toy for her second year of life.
